Driver Impersonation – How to Protect Yourself

December 17, 2014

I’ll bet you are one of the millions of people who are increasingly trading the hassle of shopping at a brick-and-mortar store for the comfort of shopping online in PJs. I know I am!

With this explosive growth in e-commerce, there are more delivery drivers on the road now than ever before—especially during the holiday season when shipping volume can be double the usual daily amount. With this in mind, FedEx has a reminder for you.

At holiday time, not all drivers carrying FedEx Ground packages to your door will be wearing branded uniforms or driving trucks with the big FedEx logo on them. If you’re ever concerned about the identity of someone delivering a package to you, just ask to see the official FedEx ID badge. It will have the driver’s photograph and the FedEx logo on it, and will be worn around your driver’s upper arm, on a lanyard around his or her neck, or clipped to outerwear where you can easily see it. Our drivers are always happy to show you their proper identification whenever you ask.

We want you AND your shipments to be safe!
