FedEx Office Proud to Support Teach for America

February 27, 2009

FedEx Office CEO Brian Philips shares personal experience with Teach for America Week Tomorrow’s leaders are today’s children, which is why FedEx is committed to investing both time and resources into educating children and supporting causes such as Teach for America.  At FedEx Office, education is equally as important, which led the company to introduce a program specifically designed for educators last year.  Through the FedEx Office Educators Savings programs, teachers and educators nationwide are entitled to a 15 percent discount on all printing services.  Our goal is to be a reliable resource for educators who are forming our future young leaders.

Just this week I had the honor of teaching a Mardi Gras lesson to a group of 2nd graders at Junipero Serra Elementary School in San Francisco as part of Teach for America Week.  I was truly amazed at the work of Alison Spencer, the Teach for America Corps Member.  These teachers have such difficult jobs and give so much of themselves to make a difference in the lives of children.  I definitely will participate in this great cause again next year.

I am proud to be a part of a company dedicated to our future leaders, and with the help of programs such as Teach for America, we may go forward confidently knowing tomorrow will be a better day.
