FedEx Trade Networks breaks ground at environmentally sustainable business park
I am very inspired by today’s events, as we broke ground for our new office and warehouse facilities at the Riverview Solar Technology Park just outside of Buffalo, in Tonawanda, NY.
Conducting business in an environmentally sustainable way is important to FedEx Trade Networks. Our involvement with the Riverview Solar Technology Park illustrates our commitment to our customers, and the local community, to seek out innovative processes to streamline our operations and reduce our carbon footprint. This morning’s ceremony served as a true testament to our focus on doing things smarter, and I couldn’t be prouder of all of the team members who helped make this vision a reality.
For more than 40 years now, FedEx has built its global reputation as a technology pacesetter. One such initiative that exemplifies the FedEx commitment to improved sustainability is the Company’s EarthSmart program, which focuses on integrating innovative “green” practices into the way we work and the services we offer. FedEx Trade Networks is proud to embrace this strategy as well by moving into the Riverview Solar Technology Park.
I am truly excited for our team members slated to move into this incredibly progressive facility and about what they will learn first-hand about the advantages of being “green.” I look forward to sharing those experiences so that we may all become more responsible and informed contributors in the local communities we serve.
Thank you to everyone involved in this special celebration and working diligently to get this project approved by Erie County Industrial Development Agency (ECIDA) last month. It has certainly been a very special day, and I have been honored to represent us here in Tonawanda, NY.
