Facility Expansion and Infrastructure Improvements Continue at MEM World HUB

It’s always great when a plan comes together, and June 4th marks the official grand opening of our new employee entrance and screening facility at the MEM World HUB. This construction is part of a much bigger multi-million dollar project which has been ongoing for the last two years. At the HUB we call it the “180k plan." In layperson terms, the 180k plan is a project to allow us to increase our box sort rate from 160,000 packages per hour up to 180,000 boxes per hour (hence the 180k name).

Crazy Cologne

51 weeks a year my good old friend Peter is a very reputable man. He works as a teacher, loves cooking and watching football on TV and regularly supports some older neighbors by carrying their groceries up the stairs. Recognizing the People Who Run the World’s Best Cargo Hub

We had games for the kids and food for everyone.  We even had tours of the facility so our team members’ families could see where they worked.

Our Latest Milestone – The Guangzhou Hub

I had the good fortune to live and work in China about 10 years ago.  It was (and is) one of the most challenging and dynamic countries in the world -- and I have worked in quite a few countries in my 34 years with FedEx! Much has changed in China over the years, but our commitment to China never has.  The newly opened Asia Pacific hub in Guangzhou, China is the latest milestone for FedEx -- it is now our largest hub outside of the U.S.
