While the holidays are the busiest time for FedEx, one of the most special holiday gifts we are delivering this season is a Christmas tree. Thousands of them, to be exact.

Trees for Troops brings together FedEx, the Christmas SPIRIT Foundation and tree farmers across America to transport thousands of real Christmas trees to U.S. military service members stationed overseas, as well members of the armed forces and their families on military bases in the U.S.

Over the past eight years, we’ve come together to provide for the donation and delivery of over 103,000 trees for troops around the world. By delivering these fresh Christmas Trees, we strive to spread holiday cheer among the dedicated servicemen and women in uniform, whether they are serving overseas in the Middle East, or at home with their families.

As in previous years, the public may also support Trees for Troops by donating to the program and/or purchasing fresh trees at one of more than 30 Christmas Tree retail locations nationally during the official Trees for Troops weekend, Nov. 30 – Dec. 2.  Donated trees will be added to the program’s planned deliveries to U.S. bases during 2012. More information on how to get involved can be found a http://www.treesfortroops.org/.

Together, we will honor the dedication of America’s servicemen and women by decking the halls, homes and barracks of those that serve our country.

    Gene Brinson says:

When I reached my Vietnam duty station in late November 1969 there was a small artificial Christmas tree in the corner of the hootch. It was decorated with hand-made paper ornaments and the few presents under the tree were wrapped in pages from a newspaper comic strip, but it was a reminder of home and was a comforting sight!
The Trees For Troops program is nothing short of heartwarming and I know that each and every recipient is grateful for a real tree and appreciative that they are being thought of.
    Well done!

Thank you, FedEx, for all you’re doing to bring the Christmas spirit to our troops. Grandma’s Gardens in Waynesville, Ohio is proud to support Trees for Troops for the 5th year. Each year more local families discover the joy of sending a Christmas tree to a soldier or military family and each year you pick up more trees to get them on their merry way! The holidays will be brighter for us all knowing that the trees in our lot today will be dressed up for the season in homes on a military base soon! Yes, very well done.

It has been so wonderful to see all of the FedEx workers comming together to do trees for troops. I so enjoy seeing all of the wonderful things all of you do here at FedEx and since I volunteer here I will be apart of the trees for troops program! I’m so exited!

    Betty Brown says:

I am an avid supporter of FedEx Cares. This was my first year of volunteering for the Trees for Troops. The appreciation each of these soldiers and their families portrayed was just wonderful. They were so grateful in thanking us upon leaving. My response was “No, Thank YOU!” And each tree was tagged with a message from the family who had purchased it for the troops. That was simply amazing as well.
