Vote now for your school: Countless Possibilities

December 4, 2013

Think back to elementary school…what do you remember most?

Likely, there’s a favorite teacher who stands out. Teachers are a guiding force in many young lives, and their tireless efforts can make all the difference.

This holiday season, FedEx is honoring teachers and the difference they make in our schools and communities. With the help of online voters across the U.S., we will be providing supplies and grants to three schools nominated by Teach For America teachers.

By simply watching the five submission videos posted at fedex.com/CountlessPossibilities and voting for your favorite, you can help three deserving schools receive supplies and resources to bring Countless Possibilities to life for their students.

FedEx will contribute $25,000 in requested supplies and resources to the school receiving the most votes and $10,000 and $5,000 in grants to schools with the second and third highest votes.

Take a look at the deserving finalists, and remember to vote for your favorite at fedex.com/countlesspossibilities from now until December 23.

  • Match Charter Public Middle School (Boston, Massachusetts) –
Match Middle School students love to perform, but without an arts program, their talents are going unseen. With a Countless Possibilities grant, Match would build a proper arts program to include a 25-piece band, a performance area with a state-of-the-art sound system, and a dedicated group to run the program and harness student creativity.
  • Oglesby Elementary (Chicago, Illinois) –
With a Countless Possibilities grant, Oglesby Elementary School wants to build a community farm that will help educate its students about healthy and sustainable food choices, while providing a place for the community to gather and share a sustainable lifestyle.
  • Young Woman’s College Preparatory Academy (Houston, Texas) –
The students at YWCPA love books, but unfortunately, their library shelves are near empty. With a Countless Possibilities grant, they will stock the library with books, add a security and check-out system, and update the décor so the library is a modern and hospitable destination for reading.
  • KIPP STRIVE Academy (Atlanta, Georgia) –
With a Countless Possibilities grant, KIPP STRIVE Academy would like to build a fully-functional science lab to benefit STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) education and ignite students’ interest in the sciences
  • PS/MS 188, The Island School (New York, New York) –
The students at The Island School have a drive to create, but don’t currently have the equipment to help them do so. A Countless Possibilities grant would allow the school to build a creative digital fabrication hub to support applied STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) learning and real-world problem solving.

In addition, thanks to the generosity of FedEx customers, the FedEx One Rate promotion supporting Teach for America has been a big success and we are increasing the total donation goal amount from $200,000 to $300,000.  So, keep shipping using FedEx One Rate and sharing #CountlessPossibilities through December 23rd and we will keep donating $1 to Teach for America until we reach $300,000. And it’s all thanks to you!
