FedEx Volunteers Support Children with Visual Disabilities

November 5, 2017

SEOUL, South Korea,  November 6, 2017 — As part of the annual FedEx Cares Campaign, on November 4 FedEx volunteers participated in the You & I (Eye) Cares program. Organized in collaboration with the Partners for the Future Foundation – the charity arm of American Chamber of Commerce in Korea, the program provided visually impaired children from Hanbit School for the Blind and Incheon Hyegwang School for the Blind with the experience of a baking class and an instrumental music performance.

More than 40 FedEx volunteers and family members teamed up with 30 visually impaired children and guided them through baking sensory experiences, such as touch, smell and sound.  After the baking class, all the participants enjoyed an instrumental music performance targeting visually impaired children.

“At FedEx, our goal is to deliver positive change around the world, including supporting the social needs of the communities where we live and work,” said Eun-Mi Chae, managing director of FedEx Express Korea. “We are proud to support today’s activity, which offers visually impaired children with socialization and valuable cultural experiences.”

This project is part of the FedEx Cares initiative where FedEx team members from around the world will volunteer their time and talents to support local communities. FedEx will invest $200 million in more than 200 communities by 2020 to create opportunities and deliver positive change around the world.
