The Presidio Bluffs are spectacular, looking out on the Golden Gate Bridge. They're part of a former military base that's now a national park, so we're working around historic fortifications and in sight of one of the world's most scenic bridges. Over more than a century, the Army planted ground cover and other plants with the best of intentions, but we now understand that those invasive plants have taken over and crowded out beautiful - and sometimes endangered - native plants.

Growing up in the San Francisco Bay Area, I was always concerned about the world around me. I learned from my parents at a very young age the importance of giving back to your community, getting involved to make the world a better place, and helping those who are less fortunate. I remember as a child going door-to-door in my neighborhood collecting money for the Jerry Lewis Muscular Dystrophy telethon. I recruited my sister, who wasn’t as outgoing, to go with me. As long as I did the talking and asking, she would join me!

Over 40 FedEx elves joined in the fun at the 14th Annual Jerry Rice toy drive and holiday festival. Thousands of toys were collected that will benefit 15 different children’s charities all around the Bay Area including Children’s Hospital Oakland and Shelter Network of San Mateo County.
