While our company is comprised of many couriers, drivers and contractors, each and every one of us "can deliver" in another way......in fact a "United Way". Recently at a FedEx United Way event in New York City, employees had the chance to deliver "good will" to our local community. Many of us may take for granted the life style and benefits we enjoy each day. We may under estimate the impact of simple things like gardening; painting or just organizing a work area can have for others less fortunate.

FedEx is well known for it's creativity and a variety of "industry firsts"....and many employees under estimate their ability to truly make a difference, think outside the box, and make an everlasting impact. A few years ago I was challenged with a project, and that was to find a way to increase our customer drop off points. One idea was to create a "slot" on the side of our FedEx vehicles where customers in major markets could drop off their overnight letters or courier pak envelopes in any of the literally hundreds of FedEx vehicles.

I've been with FedEx for nearly 30 years -- I guess you could say that I grew up "Purple". During my time at FedEx, I have held several managerial positions -- and along with them a lot of leaderhip training. What have I learned from these years of experience and training? The FedEx culture and way of life can -- and should -- benefit others outside of FedEx.
