Puppy Love – Abused Puppies Rescued with Help of FedEx

Many folks don't know that FedEx ships zoo animals and livestock as part of our normal business.  The staff that run our FedEx Animal Desk work the logistics on a daily basis.  It seems like Lydia Petropoulus and Carolyn Frisch know more about how to do this right than anyone in the business.  On the charitable shipping side, I work with them on rescue type situations when we feel it is appropriate.  We have had a few moves this year with some being more unusual than others.

A Gift for Freedom Service Dogs

FedEx special delivery of blankets for Christmas

A small shipment, but one with a lot of heart surrounding it.  We received a request from Mimi Gallagher in Maple Grove, MN asking for FedEx to help ship blankets to an Indian Reservation in Manderson, SD.  Her 12 year old daughter, Rose, had seen a special on the extreme poverty.  She rallied her friends to make 170 blankets for a special delivery before the Christmas holiday break for the local school childr

In terms of core competencies, none is more associated with FedEx than transportation and our ability to provide access to the world's markets.  In that light, our capacity to provide lift for disaster relief materials to locations across the world in times of need is a prime area where FedEx expertise is best leveraged.  Such a delivery was for Direct Relief International with a flight on Feb.
