I continue to get great input on the subject of work life balance and the fact that it is such a struggle. So, I am now trying to go deeper into why this is such a problem. We all know the simple basic things we need to do - as mentioned last week - yet we still feel the pressure and the pain of trying to make it all work.So, what is the heart of the problem?

It was a real joy to hear for many of you about your experiences at FedEx. One key point that I heard over and over again was the fact that we at FedEx spend the weeks before the Holidays in what we call Peak!! This means to us that we are responsible for ensuring all of our customers shipping needs are met.

This year is my 30th anniversary here at FedEx. The Company is 35 years old, so you can imagine I've seen, experienced and been through a lot of change. In that time I've been fortunate to grow my professional career to a point where today I serve as vice president of FedEx Customer Information Services customer service operations. I have had the opportunity to hold many different positions throughout the company which has given me the ability to grow and learn.
