Did you know that Hispanics now make up 25% of public high school students in the U.S.? Or that despite the fact that only 14.5% of Hispanics aged 25 or older currently hold a bachelor’s degree, the share of Hispanic high school graduates enrolled in college reached an all-time high in 2012? In fact, that same year, high school drop-outs among this group reached an all-time low.

The Global Citizenship team has supported the Memphis Challenge program for several years through charitable giving. Team members used their knowledge and skills as writers to assist Memphis-area high school seniors who are a part of this program. Informally known as the “FedEx Design Team,” those team members have conducted an annual workshop since 2007 on “How to Write the Winning College Entrance Essay.”

However, what we acquired was so much more than just that. Company program has provided life changing experiences, valuable opportunities, and definitely taught us much more about life and business than we anticipated.

With the month of September kicking off the back-to-school season, millions of children are preparing to walk or bike to school, many for the first time. FedEx and Safe Kids USA are teaming up to help spread awareness about pedestrian safety for children, parents and drivers.
