A Couple of FedEx Love Stories
There are more than 300,000 FedEx team members around the world. We come from different backgrounds, speak different languages and have unique cultural traditions. That’s what makes us a strong team. For some of us, these teams extend beyond work.
Daniel and Nichole Sherry
Like most married couples, Daniel and Nichole Sherry see each other every day. It’s hard not to from their side-by-side desks. The Sherrys own two businesses run out of the same office in Kansas City, Mo. that provide pick-up and delivery services for FedEx Ground and FedEx Home Delivery. Their business is a true family affair, involving brothers, mothers, aunts and uncles.
Although Valentine’s Day is a special time to show love and affection, Nichole said she expects this treatment every day from Daniel. After all, “he has plenty of opportunities,” she added.
Daniel and Nichole will celebrate their 13th wedding anniversary in April.
Lawrence Bell and Sharon Jester
Lawrence Bell and Sharon Jester have traveled nearly one million miles together. The two drive for FedEx Custom Critical, picking up and delivering long-haul shipments. Having been a couple for nearly ten years, their habits complement each other perfectly. Sharon hates traffic and prefers night driving. Lawrence prefers the day driving duties.
Although Lawrence and Sharon spend much of their time on the road, they build in time to do the things many couples do at home. Sharon noted that while life on the road with your significant other has its perks, there are also challenges involved. “We find things to do to keep from being cooped up in the truck all the time. We go to the mall or sight see or try new restaurants,” she said.
Since they began driving together for FedEx in 2007, they’ve been to Las Vegas, San Francisco, New York City and many other landmark locations for pick-ups and deliveries.
While Valentine’s Day is special to them, Lawrence and Sharon said so is every mile they drive together.
From the FedEx family to yours, Happy Valentine’s Day!
