Don’t Stand on the Sidelines this Holiday Season. Give Back with FedEx One Rate.
Earlier this week, I had the privilege of visiting Ford Road Elementary School in Memphis with Tony Dungy, Super Bowl winning, retired NFL Coach. Tony talked to a group of 490 students, pre-k through 5th grade, about the importance of taking pride in their education and building the skills they need for a successful future.
I know the parents and students at Ford Road have been reflecting on the year behind them as their test scores have skyrocketed to being within the 5% of schools in the state, led by Principal Antonio Burt. They are now enjoying their new status as a Tennessee state “Reward School.”
But the holidays are here and it’s a good time to reflect on not only the past year but, more importantly, the coming year.
The work of these kids is evidence that there are countless possibilities when it comes to the road ahead. While they have faced challenges, they continue to strive for excellence within their school and community.
“As a national spokesperson for All Pro Dad, I was so proud to speak to all of the fantastic kids at Ford Road Elementary,” said Tony Dungy.
Athena Turner, Executive Director from Teach For America in Memphis explained that the ‘FedEx One Rate, Countless Possibilities Through Education’ program is a nationwide effort to give FedEx customers an easy way to help kids during this season of giving.”
Now through December 23, FedEx will automatically donate $1 to Teach For America, up to $200,000, every time someone ships using FedEx One Rate, and every time #CountlessPossibilities is mentioned on Twitter or Facebook. Teach For America supports schools like Ford Road, with 11,000 dedicated teachers reaching 750,000 students in underserved communities.
So this holiday season, don’t stand on the sidelines. Help FedEx reach their holiday giving goal by using FedEx One Rate from a FedEx Office or FedEx Express location or online. To participate, just go to a FedEx Office or FedEx Express location or fedex.com to ship. And visit the Countless Possibilities website to see how you can give just by sharing a hashtag on Facebook or Twitter.
