FedEx Joins Forces with American Express in Support of Small Business Saturday
Guest blog from Mary Ann Fitzmaurice: Senior Vice President, American Express OPEN
We are thrilled to be partnering with FedEx to support small businesses on the 2nd Annual Small Business Saturday, November 26. Small Business Saturday is a day to promote the local businesses that create jobs, help fuel the economy and preserve neighborhoods around the country.
American Express founded Small Business Saturday as a direct response to one of the most pressing needs of a small business owner – more demand for their products and services. The results we saw last year were well beyond our expectations. A total of 1.5 million Facebook users, 130 public and private organizations, and 41 elected officials declared their support for Small Business Saturday. And small retailers who accept the American Express Card saw a 28% increase in sales versus the same day the previous year.
This year, with FedEx’s support of the “Shop Small Gift Card” program, we will be able to send tens of thousands of additional consumers into Main Street merchants on November 26, helping to drive holiday sales for local businesses.
To take part in Small Business Saturday and access marketing tools and collateral for your small business, please visit the Small Business Saturday page on Facebook at facebook.com/ShopSmall.
We look forward to partnering with FedEx in making this year’s Small Business Saturday an even bigger success! We hope you will join us.
