Happy Veterans Day: Delivering Thanks to Our Troops

November 11, 2013

FedEx understands the importance of giving back to the men and women who proudly serve our country and we are proud to support them through our work with the USO.  For more than 10 years, FedEx has provided in-kind shipping and logistical expertise to the USO for its Operation USO Care Package, USO Holiday Boxes, USO Christmas Convoy and other programs that support the organization’s mission of lifting the spirits of America’s troops and their families.

On November 7, FedEx volunteers joined The New York Yankees, the USO and more than 100 volunteers to assemble holiday care packages for US Military stationed overseas.  FedEx will then transport these care packages to troops serving around the globe- delivering holiday moments to our men and women in uniform.

More information about supporting the USO can be found at

On November 19, FedEx will kick off its ninth season of supporting Trees for Troops, along with the Christmas SPIRIT Foundation and tree farmers across America to transport thousands of real Christmas trees to service members stationed overseas, as well as on military bases in the U.S.  Since the Trees for Troops program launched in 2005, FedEx has shipped more than 122,000 real Christmas trees to service members and their families – covering every branch of the military at more than 60 bases in 17 countries.  This year, FedEx will deliver another 17,000 to members of the U.S. military and their families.

As in previous years, the public may also support Trees for Troops by donating to the program and/or purchasing fresh trees at one of more than 30 Christmas tree retail locations nationally during the official Trees for Troops weekend, Dec. 6 – Dec. 8.  Donated trees will be added to the program’s planned deliveries to U.S. bases during 2013. More information can be found at

While the holidays are the busiest time for FedEx, these care packages and Christmas trees are some of the most special holiday gifts we will deliver this season.   We are honored to use our logistical experience and expertise in support of the U.S. men and women in uniform.

I’m so grateful to be a FedEx volunteer and get to be apart of the wonderful things that I’m reading about in this blog, that I do, and it makes me happy to see that what I do and others do, make a success!

What an awesome honor for Hannah and her family! I would be soooo proud if a FedEx plane was named after one of my children! How does one go about getting into the drawing? I work for FedEx Custom Critical in Ohio. I love my job, my workplace and our leaders. What a fantastic company to work for. FedEx sincerely cares globally about their people and what we do each day to make every FedEx experience outstanding. Proud to be a part of the FedEx family.
