One of the bonuses of my job is that I meet new and interesting people all the time.I spend a lot of time on the road and at events. But it is not every day or every week that get asked to hold speech in such a stunning and remarkable location as the rooftop café of the German parliament in Berlin. On this occasion, I was asked to hold a speech at a FedEx sponsored breakfast event aimed at people who want to set up their own small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs).

A few months ago, one of my friends in Louisiana asked me to come down to speak to his local Entrepreneur Organization chapter about digital and social media at FedEx. This friend also happens to be one of the largest FedEx customers in Louisiana, which made the request more of a demand. But as a native of Louisiana, it’s always attractive to head farther South during the cold winter months in Memphis, so last month I took him up on a trip to Baton Rouge.
