Economic Advancement? Listen to These Businesses

Ralph Carter represented FedEx at the recent B20 discussions in Russia.The Palaces of Peter and Catherine the Great were a stunning backdrop to last week’s Business 20 ("B20") meetings in Russia.  Governments around the world are looking for the right mix of policies to spur economic growth. With some countries opting for austerity while others try expansionary fiscal and monetary policies, consensus on the best approach is hard to find.

Remembering Burnetta B. Williams

When I first met Burnetta Williams 30 years ago, I could tell there was something special about her. She exuded a quiet power and confidence that gave me the feeling she could handle big jobs.  And how!She was a brilliant, results-oriented leader who took on the most challenging tasks with humility and grace.  Her passing on December 13 is a loss to FedEx and the many lives she touched along her journey.

FedEx Annual Report 2011: “We said we would position ourselves for success, and we have.”

During 2011, an improved economy, robust customer demand and decisive actions to grow our business increased volumes and yields across all FedEx transportation segments. Revenues reached nearly $40 billion, a 13 percent year-over-year increase, and earnings per share grew more than 20 percent year over year. We are reaping the benefits of strategies we executed in tougher times.
