Once again FedEx has been named to the FORTUNE World’s Most Admired Companies list. FedEx ranked #10 for 2013, and has ranked on the list for 11 of the last 14 years.But it’s not about the numbers.It’s understandable the factors used to determine the ranking include financial management, service quality, social responsibility and global orientation. I’m proud of that strength of our business and our culture. We are one of the most admired global shipping giants on the planet for a reason – our people.

FedEx is proud to once again be listed among the top ten most admired companies in the world, according to a survey published in FORTUNE magazine.The annual “World’s Most Admired Companies” report released today listed FedEx as the #6 ranked company, up two positions from our rank in 2011.Our high ranking on this list is a result of the incredible work and passion of our team members around the world.

Recently, I was flying to Ottawa to plant trees as part of our “Greening Canada’s School Grounds” program with Tree Canada. While I have my own tried and true shovel that I’m quite attached to, I didn’t think that airport security would look too kindly upon that type of “carry-on” luggage. So before I left, I made sure the great FedEx team members in Ottawa brought me a shovel to work with!

FedEx recently received recognition in Chief Executive magazine’s “2008 Best Companies for Leaders” list, placing 13th out of 1,140 companies that applied for the award. Making this list indicates a number of things about our company.
