Fifteen years ago, the FedEx Global Citizenship team discovered a unique nonprofit called Safe Kids Worldwide (known then as the National Safe Kids Campaign). Their mission is to help prevent childhood injuries. FedEx Breaks Ground on New Temperature Controlled Facility at Memphis World Hub

FedEx Express announced today that it is beginning construction on a new state-of-the-art temperature controlled facility and heavyweight pickup and delivery operation at the FedEx Express World Hub in Memphis, TN. The 88,000 square-foot facility will interface directly with Memphis hub operations, providing greater efficiency for shipments transiting the FedEx Express network, as well as enhanced handling of customers’ cold chain shipments.

Few can argue that news events during the summer of 2013 are clear evidence that we have more than enough race and gender based issues to debate and dispute in this country.  The problems are not new, and they won’t be solved overnight.  But it is heartening to know that there are those who are working to make positive changes.  Small steps, but steps in the right direction nonetheless.
