December 18, 2006 to be Busiest Day in FedEx History

November 6, 2006

MISSISSAUGA, Ont., Nov. 6, 2006 – FedEx Express Canada, a unit of FedEx Corp. (NYSE: FDX), expects to be a part of history again when a record-breaking 9.8 million packages move through the corporation’s global FedEx Express and FedEx Ground networks on Dec. 18, 2006.

This is projected to be the busiest night in the history of FedEx Corp., and would break the company’s previous record night of 8.9 million on Dec. 19, 2005.

While sending gifts early will save time and keep shippers stress-free, FedEx is at the ready to help last-minute shoppers get their gifts delivered in time for the holidays. FedEx Express customers in Canada can ship within or from Canada as late as Dec. 22. The last day to ship with FedEx Ground is Dec. 15. "Growing package volumes are a positive sign of economic strength during this busy retail season, as goods continue to cross borders to meet global demand," said David Binks, president of FedEx Express Canada. "In addition, online retailing continues to increase as more consumers make online shopping a part of their holiday tradition. FedEx helps enable this upward trend in e-commerce as customers look to us as a reliable and trusted source to deliver their valued items."
