October 19, 2009
SHANGHAI, October 19, 2009 – FedEx Express (FedEx), a subsidiary of FedEx Corp. (NYSE: FDX) and one of the world’s largest express transportation companies, today announced the latest enhancement to its inbound international express service in China. Building on the earlier service enhancements in the Pearl River Delta region, Shanghai deliveries from around the world will now be delivered by noon, six hours earlier than the previous commitment of 18:00.
The enhanced delivery time applies to all inbound FedEx International Priority service shipments to most areas of Shanghai from Monday to Saturday, with a money-back guarantee.
“Since we established operations in China 25 years ago, FedEx has continuously enhanced its service offerings in order to meet customer needs,” said Eddy Chan, senior vice president, FedEx China. “In China, the market is constantly changing, and it is important that as a company we change with it. Our earlier delivery commitment of FedEx Express International Priority service in Shanghai and enhancements in the Pearl River Delta region demonstrate our flexibility and how we take innovative steps to improve our customer service to make every FedEx experience outstanding.”
The new noon delivery commitment for Shanghai adds to later cut-off times and earlier delivery services offered in the Pearl River Delta region since March and May 2009 respectively. In the Pearl River Delta region, FedEx has extended the cut-off times for all outbound international shipments to Asia and Europe, and made the delivery time commitment for all inbound FedEx International Priority service shipments by noon.
