FedEx Enhances Service Portfolio in India With Launch of FedEx Import services

MUMBAI, India, December 20, 2010 – FedEx Express, a subsidiary of FedEx Corp. (NYSE: FDX) and the world’s largest express transportation company, today announced the availability of FedEx Import services in India. The service enables FedEx to meet the growing needs of Indian importers looking for reliable and customized import express services, in addition to the export and domestic services FedEx provides.

FedEx Import services provide door-to-door, customs-cleared, customized and time-definite services, which empower consignees in India with greater choice and control on their import shipments. With a transit time of typically two to three business days, the new services are available from more than 220 countries and territories worldwide—the highest by any import service provider in India. The services also enable customers to raise invoices and make payments in Indian Rupees. As a result, import customers can now enjoy the same benefits, expertise and high quality service, as with FedEx export and domestic services.

With the launch of FedEx Import services, importers in India will have access to the complete portfolio of FedEx services for express and economy shipments including dangerous goods, perishable and valuable shipments. In addition, they will have the flexibility to consolidate multiple packages into one shipment for ease of customs clearance and then deconsolidate into individual shipments. The services are supported by FedEx expertise and value added solutions such as FedEx Money Back Guarantee and tracking solutions, which offer reliability and ensure convenience for customers.

India’s international trade has played a vital role in contributing to the country’s economic growth. While exports from the country grew by 23.2%, imports posted a 26.1% year-on-year growth in September 2010i.
