FedEx Extends Business Hours Ahead of Chinese New Year

January 12, 2012

Taipei, January 12, 2012—FedEx today announced the extension of operations hours at many of its service centers in Taiwan in the days leading up to the Lunar New Year. The move aims at meeting an expected increase in demand for international shipping services during this period, and providing additional convenience for customers.

The cut-off times for both call-in pickups and shipment drop-offs in most areas will be extended.

·        From January 19 to 20, two days prior to Lunar New Year’s Eve, the cut-off times for call-in pickups will be extended to 9 p.m., and the pickup/drop-off cut-off times of major FedEx World Service Centers (WSCs) will be extended to 11 p.m.

·        On January 21, all FedEx WSCs will operate during regular weekend service hours.

·        There will be no service from January 22 to January 27.

·        On January 28, there will be no FedEx call-in pickup services. All FedEx WSCs will be in service from 9 a.m. to 12 a.m.

·        Normal service hours will resume on January 30.

·        On February 4, regular weekday service hours will be offered since this day is being adjusted as an alternate work day.

Customers may drop off their packages at any FedEx WSCs or authorized pickup points (including 1,299 Chunghwa Telecom Post Offices).

** The call-in cut-off times and World Service Center operating hours vary by location. The cut-off times for same-day flights are unchanged on January 19 and January 20. For details, please contact our Customer Service Team at 0800-075-075.

During the Chinese New Year holiday, our Inbound Shipment Service Hours will be adjusted as follows:

·             On January 21, the day before the Lunar New Year’s Eve, FedEx will deliver all the inbound shipments that have completed import customs declarations. Customers who are expecting a shipment to be imported on January 21 have the option of contacting our Customer Service Team at 0800-075-075, to arrange for self-pick up at a FedEx WSC on Jan 28.

·             There will be no delivery services from January 22 through 28.

·             Normal delivery service hours will resume on January 30.

During Chinese New Year, FedEx Customer Service Call Center will continue to provide inquiry services. Service hours will be adjusted as follows,

·        From January 19 to 20, two days prior to Lunar New Year’s Eve, service time will be 8 a.m. to 11 p.m.

·        On January 21, service hours will be 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.

·        The FedEx Customer Service Call Center will be closed on January 22.

·        From January 23 through 28, service hours will be 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

·        Normal service hours will resume on January 30.

·        On February 4, service time will be 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. since that day is adjusted as an alternate work day.

“FedEx is again extending service hours ahead of the Lunar New Year holiday to meet various customers’ needs,” said Michael Chu, managing director of FedEx Taiwan. “This is yet another example of how we continue to go above and beyond to provide customers with flexible and reliable services.”

During the holiday season, FedEx advises customers to arrange for package deliveries earlier than usual to ensure a speedy and timely delivery. Customers can use the FedEx 24-hour Voice Response Unit System to arrange pickups or track shipment status.
