FedEx supports Indian Textile Exporters

Mumbai, India, May 09, 2007 – FedEx Express, the world’s largest air express transportation company, sponsored the 24th India Knit Fair (IKF) Spring/Summer Collection 2008 held recently at Tirupur. Organised by the Apparel Export Promotion Council (AEPC) and Tirupur Exporters’ Association, the India Knit Fair is an event attended by leading garment exporters and importers from around the world. FedEx connects Tirupur with key global markets in 48 hours. The company also offers a suite of special packaging options for the fashion industry.

FedEx Solutions for the Fashion World

FedEx addresses the distinct packaging needs of Indian fashion customer through a tailor made solution called “FedEx Solutions for the Fashion World”. These packaging solutions come at no extra cost to the customer.

The FedEx Packaging Design and Development Lab in Memphis, United States has designed and developed four types of packages.

This range of packaging consists of:

  • A sample box to send up to six shirts or T-shirts.
  • A medium size carton to accommodate thirty stand-up shirts.
  • A large size carton to hold sixty flat pack shirts.
  • A specially tailored FedEx sleeve to hold rolls of fabrics, carpets, linen and furnishings.

FedEx is the only express transportation company to offer so many packaging options to Indian customers.

FedEx also offers technology solutions like FedEx Global Trade Manager that assists customers in preparing essential paperwork.
