The Korea finalist teams presented their ideas for “Strategies to Enter the Beauty Product Market in Indonesia” to a panel of judges comprised of FedEx experts and JA representatives. The winning teams were assessed based on the originality of their concept, thoroughness of their business plan research, and feasibility of their ideas. Outshining 10 other teams, the three winning teams won the opportunity to represent Korea at the Asia Pacific Finals in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
The six students will receive further training from JA Korea to prepare for the finals where they will compete with students from ten Asia Pacific markets. In order to promote cross-cultural collaboration, they will be randomly grouped into new teams consisting of participants from Australia, mainland China, Hong Kong, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, the Philippines and Vietnam. This environment is designed to encourage participants to share experiences from their home countries and discuss best practices.
“FedEx is committed to connecting business ideas to help entrepreneurs reach more market possibilities far and wide,” said Eun-Mi Chae, managing director of FedEx Express Korea. “Through the ITC program we are supporting our next generation of entrepreneurs to grow and succeed in the global economy.”
Since its launch in Korea in 2007, the FedEx/JA ITC has attracted more than 1,700 students nationwide, with 72 Korean students representing the country at the regional challenge. The program aims to encourage aspiring entrepreneurs to showcase their originality, creativity, and flair for business.
