FedEx Ground Leadership: Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer
Bob Henning is executive vice president and chief financial officer for FedEx Ground, leading the company’s long-range and annual planning and financial analysis.
Henning joined Federal Express as an attorney in 1979. From 1982 to 1992, he held various management positions in the FedEx Legal and Regulatory Affairs department. In 1993, he moved to the Treasury department as assistant treasurer and managing director of structured finance. In 1998, Henning was elected vice president and treasurer of FedEx Corp.’s principal operating subsidiary, FedEx Express, with responsibility for global secured financings and cash management.
In February 2000, Henning moved to FedEx Corp. and was elected staff vice president of corporate development, establishing that department and leading its development. In this role, he led the FedEx global M&A, integration and transformation practice, and played a principal role in the company’s successful acquisitions of, among other firms, American Freightways, Kinko’s, DTW Group (China), Watkins Motor Freight, Rapidão Cometa (Brazil), ANC Holdings (U.K.), GENCO and TNT. Under Henning’s leadership, FedEx developed and implemented its best-in-class ACQUIRE process, establishing a core competency in merger integration. In 2010, Henning assumed the additional responsibility of leading the FedEx global planning and strategic financial analysis functions as corporate vice president of strategic finance and corporate development for FedEx Corp. He was named to his current position with FedEx Ground in October 2017.
